4 star Rosé

Feb 11, 2016

Respected wine writers Raymond Chan and Sam Kim both awarded our 2015 Monowai Rosé 4 stars in their latest reviews, here is what they had to say...

'Moderately deep strawberry pink with light red hues, pale edged. The nose is softly voluminous with light and harmoniously entwined aromas of watermelon and cranberries, along with nuances of soft herbs and red florals. The aromatics grow in depth and concentration with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a soft, gently packed core of strawberry, cranberry and watermelon fruit flavours. The fruit has sweetness, and the richness is balanced by light phenolic textures and light, lacy acidity lending a soft, thirst-quenching mouthfeel. The fruit is carried to a soft, juicy, light finish with strawberry and cranberry flavours. This is a softly concentrated and gently thirst-quenching rosé with strawberry and cranberry flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 100% Pinot Noir given skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 17.0/20 Dec 2015 RRP $20.00 ' Raymond Chan
'A generously expressed style; fragrant aromas of nectarine, melon, citrus and strawberry lead to a juicy palate that is fruity and rounded with a hint of sweetness, which is nicely balanced by refreshing acidity. Lingering, smooth and crisp on the finish. At its best: now to 2017. $20.00' Sam Kim, Wine Orbit.

It also caught the eye of Bob Campbell who awarded it 89/100 points. Click here to try it for yourself...
