Sam Kim recently reviewed our wines for Wine Orbit and said some very complimentary things, especially when he awarded 4 stars to three of them.
Here are his notes:
Sauvignon Blanc 2014
A friendly and attractive sauvignon, the gently fragrant bouquet shows white peach, mandarin and lemon peel with a hint of herbaceous notes. It is juicy and smooth on the palate with attractive fruit intensity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2017.
Pinot Gris 2014
The wine is instantly appealing on the nose; aromas of stone fruit, ripe citrus and floral lead to a succulent palate that is expressive and flavoursome. Very well balanced and smooth, a crowd-pleaser with plenty of tasty flavours. At its best: now to 2017.
Merlot 2013
Upfront and friendly, this attractive merlot shows dark plum, blueberry, spice and dried herb characters on the nose, followed by a ripe and rounded palate that delivers abundance of youthful fruit flavours. At its best: now to 2018.
New World Hastings were impressed and immediately started stocking the Merlot, and plan to add the others shortly!
