
Monowai Chardonnay 2010
Tasting note
Pale gold in colour with rich stonefruit and citrus delicately enhanced with buttery toasty notes and a hint of vanilla. The flavours of peach follow through to the palate with a touch of zesty lemon flavour lending balance and length.
Winemaking
Fruit was selectively hand harvested at optimum ripeness with, gently pressed, and free run and pressings fermented separately between 12-15°C to maximise freshness and aroma. 60% was fermented in Oak barrels and underwent malolactic fermentation while the other 40% was aged sur lie in stainless tanks to retain fruit freshness.
